One of the most obvious differences between the two is the screen. The LG900g has a superior and slightly brighter screen. The larger more proportional screen on the LG900g is easier to read and just looks better.

SD Card Slot

This one again goes to the LG900g. The 900g has a conveniently placed side mounted slot that's easy to install/remove. The LG500 on the other hand requires the removal of the back cover and battery.

Digital Camera

Another one for the LG900g, at least on paper. Honestly, there is very little difference between image quality when downloading or sharing to a pc.

FM Radio

The LG900g has a built in radio while the 500 does not.

Text Messaging

This is a big plus for the LG500g. We liked the text messaging interface much better on the LG500g. The email like interface and insert widget is pretty cool. You can insert different multi media files including sounds, images and videos.

It's a toss up. There are several key features that makes the LG900g superior on paper. The certified Facebook java app is a big plus for the 900 while the Text Messaging interface goes to the LG500. Of course, there is a $30 difference between the two. If you are big texter, we would go with the LG500g simply because of the Texting interface. If the screen size and Facebook app is important to you, then the LG900g might be your better option. Honestly, we didn't find the differences to justify the $30 difference. So our recommendation goes to the LG500.
